Review: Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme

I think a lesser talked about aspect of pale skin is a tendency for your skin to be very dry. I’ve had a hard time finding a face moisturizer that doesn’t just sit on top of my skin, but doesn’t break me out. I thought I was managing it pretty well this winter until I was scolded by a brusque Russian lady at the Origins counter giving me a “free” facial. I love Origin products (and actually have a masque that I use for this same issue from there), but their famous moisturizers focus more on brightening then combating dryness. Since I’m already glowingly pale, I sought out a different brand.

Chanel is a splurge and I was really hesitant about the price (it was $80!). However, I think their hydra creme is worth it, and will absolutely pick it up once this one runs out. For starters, it takes a long time to go through a jar. I’ve had this one for months now and can see it lasting months longer. This has to do with the small amount you need to see a difference in your skin. Just a couple dabs and my face and neck are softer and budding wrinkles settle. Most importantly, it doesn’t aggravate my sensitive skin, either through acne or redness.

The only con with this product for some would be the scent, although faint. It smells like roses which I personally like.

  1. Hey there! I know you haven’t posted any reviews in a while, i was wondering if you’ll start writing articles again? Love to hear what you have to say about other products 🙂
